FAQs
Can I attend the survey?
We do not permit accompanied surveys for insurance purposes, and Estate Agents have the same protocol. This is to protect both you and your surveyor from allegations that items have been tampered with or broken during the survey. Therefore if you require a further inspection of the property please inform your estate agent who will facilitate this. It's also very important that the surveyors concentrate on the inspection without any distractions.
What will you inspect?
All Home Surveys are visual, non-invasive inspections of accessible areas of the property inside and out to identify defects and give advice accordingly. We will cover as much of the property as is physically visible and accessible. The inspection cannot assess the safety of electrical, gas, plumbing, heating or drainage - specialists are required in these areas.
Can I speak with the surveyor again after I receive the report?
You will receive a telephone call on the day of the survey by 7pm with the initial feedback. We aim to give you all the essential information in this call so that there are no surprises when you receive the report (within 4 working days). We are happy to provide another call with the surveyor once you have read the report, if you have any further questions.
Can I add some more concerns I have for the surveyor?
Yes absolutely please email or call us to discuss anything you would like added to the file.
When do I need to pay?
You can pay as soon as you have the invoice, and under RICS regulations and our PI Insurance we require you to pay for the survey in advance and pre-survey inspection date. We can't conduct a survey without the fee being paid. We offer a full refund up to the day of the survey provided the surveyor is not on site.
